In 2022, the New York State Legislature agreed to fully fund Foundation Aid for schools. For school districts across NYS, Foundation Aid consists of discretionary monies that can be used for anything. Further, NYS Foundation Aid is the largest single state-aid category for schools. New York State has asked districts to solicit input regarding where school communities feel increased funding should be used.
